Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Mediatek Helio X10 vs Note 3 Pro Snapdragon 650 Camera
In my previous post I outlined the difference between the performance of the two variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - the Standard Helio X10 and Pro Snapdragon 650 versions.
In addition to containing an enhanced SoC, another enhancement found in the Pro line is a 16MP Samsung Camera, up from the 13MP unit found in the Standard edition.
Camera Units
Standard - 13MP Samsung S5K3M2 Sensor
Pro - 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 sensor
Test Photos
While I took a number of photos, the results were all quite similar. Whether HDR was On or Off, the photos from the Pro version were noticeably superior.
In general, the Standard edition pictures were far more washed out than the Pro, in addition to containing less detail.

The Daffodil photo above was taken with HDR disabled. The Pro version is the lower photo.

The Garden photo above was taken with HDR on. An identical photo with HDR off shows similar traits.

Above we have a crop from a similar Garden photo, but with HDR turned Off. Here we can see the additional detail in the 16MP unit, as well as the superior colour reproduction.
Conclusion
The Camera in the Pro version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is notably superior to the unit in the standard model.
In addition to the approximate 50% SoC performance improvement, the better camera is the icing on the cake for the Pro revision. The Pro version can also use a MicroSD card in one of the SIM slots.
As I type the pricing on the two devices are as follows:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Helio X10 (2GB / 16GB) - 117
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Helio X10 (3GB / 32GB) - 142
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650 (2GB / 16GB) - 127
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650 (3GB / 32GB) - 156
